Hamilton, MA
First Congregational Church is a thriving, 300-year-old community center on Route 1A in historic Hamilton. The congregation has enjoyed significant growth and participation recently and is in the process of a complete makeover and expansion to its site. Fine Associates has been retained to implement what amounts to two significant projects.
Fellowship Hall: This project is the new construction of a 16.500 sf classroom/multi-purpose hall. The two-story, wood frame exterior structure is designed to be historically compatible with neighboring houses. The multi-purpose room reads as an addition and is detailed to look like a barn. Classrooms have moveable walls to allow for flexible seating and configurations.
Renovations: The original church is 300 years old and is a traditional white, steepled building. The project consists of a near-complete remake of the facility including sanctuary pulpit expansion, classroom and office upgrades, new HVAC and complete accessibility modifications include compliance. Accessibility modifications include an elevator addition, exterior entry, bathroom renovations and altar access.
