Albert Fine is a registered architect in Massachusetts and sole owner of Fine Associates. He is a 1976 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with both Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Architecture degrees. Mr. Fine has been in the architecture profession for over 25 years, during which time he has worked in all major building types and markets. He is active in his home community of Newton, MA, and a number of regional not-for-profits.

His prior office experience includes employment at Benjamin Thompson and Associates, Payette Associates Inc., Bruner-Cott, and Symmes Maini & McKee Associates. During this period, Mr. Fine was responsible for a wide range of projects including semiconductor research labs at RCA and Sanders, more than 1,000,000 sf of R&D and office space, and a variety of assignments at Boston University. As a designer, he participated in Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Baltimore Harborplace, Intercontinental Hotel Cairo and Harvard’s Molecular Biology Laboratories.

He is currently Vice Chairman of the City of Newton’s Designer Selection Committee and a member of the Newton Design Review Board. He served on the Newton High School Advisory Committee, an oversight group for the rebuilding of the community’s high schools.

Mr. Fine was a faculty member of the Boston Architectural Center from 1977-1981. His activities included teaching design studio, lecturing on architectural history, and serving as faculty representative to the Board of Trustees.

Mr. Fine served on the Board of Trustees of the League School of Greater Boston for four years, serving as Vice President and as President, leaving the Board to assist with the school’s relocation to Walpole.

Mr. Fine is an accomplished site planner, designer and manager. His vision for the firm has been of an energetic group capable of professional work with a wide range of clients, including institutions, not-for-profits and private developers. Since opening Fine Associates in 1988, he has steadily evolved the organization into its present form which is noted for diversity of projects, responsive service and problem-solving strength.
